Systems Developer for e-Learning and Communities

An exciting and challenging Knowledge Transfer Partnership has been established between the University of Reading’s School of Systems Engineering and The College of Chiropractors. The latter is a professional membership body which administers postgraduate training and continuing professional development for chiropractors - regulated healthcare professionals who manage a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. This full time role will be based at the College of Chiropractors’ offices which are in Caversham, just outside Reading in Berkshire. The package includes a base salary, plus a technical and personal training allowance, the opportunity to achieve a higher degree (if appropriate, and at a reduced or no cost to you) and enrolment on a management development course. In addition to this, you will register for a nationally recognised Diploma in Management qualification awarded by the Chartered Management Institute. You will also be encouraged to join appropriate professional associations and scientific societies. The 2 year project is to develop a novel framework for facilitating interactive, online e-learning and assessment to facilitate professional development and revalidation. This will be achieved by working closely with stakeholders coupled with high quality developments of prototypes and products You will have a first or upper second-class honours degree in Computer Science or a related subject. You will have experience of gathering requirements, producing designs and implementation. You will also have experience of working with both open and closed source software. You need to be a self-motivated individual who is capable of producing robust work without significant supervision. You will be a personable individual who works well within a team and is able to communicate with users with varying technical backgrounds. Graduate Professional Services Consultant

As a Graduate Professional Services Consultant, located in our Maidenhead office, you will be part of a team that ensures customer satisfaction through effective delivery of remote professional services, understanding our clients' business requirements and assists in the configuration and testing of the RightNow product.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Become an expert in the RightNow Solution Suite – Service, Sales, Marketing Automation, Metrics, Analytics, and Live Chat
Deliver remote consulting service offerings that are part of RightNow Technologies’ core offerings
Conduct remote training sessions
Remotely support ongoing implementations
Ensure the client takes advantage of RightNow best practices
Provide remote project guidance during customer implementation
Work with other departments in RightNow (Customer Service, Hosting, Development) to meet customer expectations
Identify opportunities to position other service offerings
Ensure customers are extremely satisfied with RightNow products and services they’ve provided.
Demonstrate an understanding of the RNT LifeCycle methodology.

Knowledge Base:

Recent Graduate with an IT or related degree
Experience working with a Professional Services organization either as an internal consultant or with a consulting/software company.

Working knowledge with at least one of the following business areas a plus:

Call Center/Customer Service
Sales Force Automation
Marketing Automation
Business Analytics

Working knowledge of at least one of the following technical areas a plus:

HTML programming
UNIX (Linux and/or Solaris) administration
Microsoft Windows NT 4/2000
Microsoft SQL Server 7 or above
Oracle version 8 or above
MySQL
C, C++
XML

Skill Set:

Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills
Passion for customer service
Business development skills
Knowledge of Internet technology and operations
Project Management experience a plus

Successful candidates have a balance of functional (business) and technical experience
