Hello everyone,

I have just started the systems engineering course with cybernetics and electronic circuits,So far I think it is great, couple of challenging parts and some really nice and interesting stuff.

I live in Reading so know lots about the area and where to go etc....

I love Reading FC, life time passion,

I am a mature student at the age of 21??????

Basically I am really looking forward to getting ym teeth into some really interesting and challenging work and as someone else said I can't wait to get hold of some of these practiacls and get my hands dirty!

P.s. if you here a bike squeaking around campus then this is my pile of junk but a good way to id me.

Hello world!

So, Hello World, in both meanings of the word according to Freshers doing the programming practicals ;-)

Is this an exciting way to enter the strange and wonderful world of programming????? Answer it aint that bad! There are obviously a whole load of more complicated and more extravengant things you could do..... however are they necessary to introduce in a non-intimidating way?Probably not although I think a few people would find it more fun.....

So the original practical is quite good but what can you do that would be better? |How about using the first programme you write to run a call up of a pre-loaded exe file which then creates streamers and fireworks across the screen? I feel it would really give people a sense of achievement how cool would that be????

Just an idea but I think it would be cool and spark fresher programmers to go and be creative and hopefully spark a new passion or interest in programming
